Description: The entire new High School project centered around the restoration of the 3-story 1926 historic building which was severely damaged by Hurricane Charley. The project included a full structural renovation with all the existing / damaged interior structure and floors. The new construction consisted of converting this 3-story historic building shell into the schools new administration space and science labs. The project included the addition of new classrooms and extensive renovations to existing structures. The project received LEED Gold certification and is on the National Historic Building Registry.
The high school included a new football stadium with specialized rubber surface track & field event area in addition to an athletic field house with weight training rooms. In addition, new baseball and softball fields, along with a soccer field, tennis courts and an ancillary gymnasium were constructed.
